Emma van Schoonhoven is a viola and violin player, born in The Netherlands. After her bachelor studies in Manchester at the Royal Northern College of Music she went to Berlin for her Masters in early music.
Emma has always been a very passionate orchestral player and was lucky to join the Europen Union Youth Orchestra in 2014. It was a life changing experience where she met great colleagues that became great friends.
In 2018 she swapped from violin to viola in EUYO and was given the opportunity to lead the viola section in many of the great halls, such as Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Konzerthaus Berlin and the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Emma finds excitement in the variety in her musical carreer. She plays all over Europe with some of the leading baroque and early music ensembles, she is part of several chamber ensembles and plays with professional symphony orchestras.
